Xing's ShoeShop gets its foot in the mobile door
This is one game that's certainly got, er, sole
It's not every day you get to write about a mobile game that puts you in charge of a footwear retailer, playing someone named after the hero of a famous US sitcom. Oh no.
ShoeShop is that game, from Xing Mobile. You play a chap called Al Bundy, who runs his own shoe shop. Your job? Well, it's to keep customers happy with a steady stream of shoes in the correct sizes.
That might make it sound like a Diner Dash-style worksim, but it's not. Instead, it's more of a traditional puzzler, except with the gems you'd usually find now replaced by shoes.
There simply aren't enough shoe-based mobile games – it's been ages since the last one (Glu's In Her Shoes: High Heels Mahjong). More of this sort of thing, please, publishers!
And if you're feeling really ambitious, why not diversify into sock-based entertainment, too?
