Scooby-Doo to investigate PSP

Fans of talking dogs, hapless drug addicts with the munchies and words like 'Zoinks' should soon have cause to rejoice as Scooby-Doo's Mystery Machine rolls onto PSP.

In Scooby-Doo! Who's Watching Who, Scooby, Shaggy and pals (now named Mystery Inc) are the stars of a hit reality TV show about ghost hunting. However, a new rival team, Ghost Scene Investigators (or GSI for shot) has had the audacity to label Scooby's team as 'unscientific' in their approach.

The upshot is a cross-country challenge to see who can debunk the most ghosts, providing a diversity of gameplay from platform action and puzzle solving to driving. Indeed, we're assured this is the very first opportunity for fans to get behind the wheel of the Mystery Machine as they attempt to outrun monsters.

Add to this voice talent from the original series, plus some familiar locations to explore and spooks to unmask, and for nostalgia value alone – for pocket gamers of a certain age, at least – it has to be worth at least a Scooby snack.

What's that you say? A whole Scooby-Doo story without one mention of Mr. Carruthers the grumpy old fairground owner? Damn, and we would have got away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids!
