Which is certainly the kind of rule change I'd be happy to get behind in the real world.

Pass and don't move

The game takes place on an approximation of a football pitch. Your players are all static, and you can pass the ball between them by dragging a finger back on the one in possession and releasing.

The referee, slippery little bugger that he is, spends all of his time running around trying to avoid the ball meeting his face. Kick it too far, or miss a pass, and the referee gets a point. Smash his mug, and you get a point.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Kind+of+Soccer+2018/review.asp?c=77819 Fri, 15 Jun 2018 16:00:00 GMT Review: 2018 World Football League review - A decent game blighted by adverts 2018 World Football League is very much a game of two halves. On the one hand, it's a really interesting game that plays a little bit like Subbuteo.

On the other though, if it plays me another advert while I'm playing it for this review I swear to the footballing gods I'm going to hurl my phone out of the window and sue the developer to get me a new one.

Flip it

So, let's start with the good stuff. The game is basically played with bottle caps. You twang them around the screen using catapult-style controls, and your aim is to score more goals than your opponent.

There's a time limit here, but the game is also turn-based. One team has a flick, then it's the next team's turn. It's a neat idea, and while it misses out a lot of the tactical nuances of football, it also makes everything flow pretty well.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/2018+World+Football+League/review.asp?c=77818 Fri, 15 Jun 2018 13:58:11 GMT Skylanders fans can get a first look at new game Ring of Heroes on Android right now It's been a while since Activision and Com2us announced that they were working on a Skylanders game for mobile, and while the release isn't here, we can at least get a first taste with the open beta for Android.

Skylanders: Ring of Heroes is now available for Android on the Play Store, and will be available until June 25, with the final game to come sometime later this year.

The game itself is a turn-based RPG, where you'll find and collect from over 60 Skylanders creatures, and form teams in order to battle your opponent.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Android/Skylanders%3A+Ring+of+Heroes/news.asp?c=77817 Fri, 15 Jun 2018 13:18:39 GMT Super Mario Party for Switch is bringing online multiplayer to the series for the first time Super Mario Party, just announced at E3 as coming out in October, will feature an online minigame mode, according to a tweet from Nintendo UK.

A series first: in Super #MarioParty, test your skills against other players in a new online minigame mode!
