Given that we're a mobile gaming website we've got to hope that some sort of big game drops too, right?

The reality? Well, we'll just have to wait and see this evening when the keynote airs. Join us right here at 6 PM BST (in just a couple of hours) where we'll be live blogging the whole thing.

6:00 PM - As per usual, we're kicking off with an entry video.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Apple+Watch/Apple+news/feature.asp?c=78640 Wed, 12 Sep 2018 19:46:00 GMT 7 things we learned from WWDC 2018: Apple's Keynote With the WWDC over for another year, there's definitely a few things to be taken away from Apple's latest Keynote.

While it didn't focus much on the mobile gaming-side of things as much as last year's (mainly because iOS 11 saw the re-launch of the App Store and the surprise release of Monument Valley 2), it wasn't a total bust by far.

Some impressive statistics

Yesterday's WWDC event say developers attending from 77 countries with 6,000 attendees in the conference hall itself.

Coming up to the App Store's 10th birthday, it was noted that there are over 20 million Apple developers, with 500 million visitors per week, and a collective earning of $100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion dollars). I mean, I think I've only ever heard that sum of money spoken of by Dr. Evil.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Apple+Watch/WWDC+2018/feature.asp?c=77696 Tue, 5 Jun 2018 11:52:00 GMT Korean and Asian indie talent revealed at The Big Indie Pitch at G-Star 2017 In 2017 we took the Big Indie Pitch to more locations than ever before, giving even more international developers the opportunity to present their games to a variety of expert judges, gain feedback, meet fellow developers, and possibly take away a prize for finishing in the top three.

One of those locations that we took the Big Indie Pitch to for the first time ever in 2017 was South Korea, as a part of South Korea's largest show, G-Star.

This fascinating pitch saw many developers from around Asia showcase their games, with MMZZUU's Defenoid walking away as champion. Defenoid was closely followed by Cogoo's Dead 2048 in second, and Gwarp from Sinkhole Studio in third.

However, these obviously weren't the only games that were pitched. From matching panels, collecting monsters, and creating your own Hollywood, there was a fascinating array of indie games on show.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Apple+Watch/Big+Indie+Pitch/feature.asp?c=76498 Tue, 13 Feb 2018 15:24:41 GMT Mac and iOS devices are affected by the Meltdown and Spectre security flaws, but there's no need to panic As I'm sure you're aware, this week researchers revealed that Intel, ARM, and AMD had discovered gaps in the security system in their central processing units. While there wasn't much information about at the time, Apple confirmed yesterday that both Mac and iOS devices are affected, but they're already working on a patch.

The security flaws, known as Meltdown (rogue data cache load) and Spectre (bounds check bypass), affect a wide range of devices including Mac and iOS products. It would solve the problem of the relatively poor battery length - one of the major concerns for Switch owners.

This isn't just a portable battery for Switch owners though. Given the USB-C charging port, and two USB ports, this is also perfect for those with a fancy new MacBook and iPhone.

It will also charge those at optimal speed as well. So what you're really getting for your money - potentially - is all of the benefits of charging at mains when you're on the go.

Look

You're not buying a portable battery for its appearance, but it is worth mentioning that the PowerCore+ is a sleek and very premium looking product.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Apple+Watch/Anker+PowerCore%2B+26800+PD/hardware_review.asp?c=75216 Thu, 7 Sep 2017 15:59:00 GMT The iPhone 8, Apple Watch 3, and more could be revealed on September 12th The most eagerly asked question here is whether Apple's upcoming event will reveal the iPhone 8 and potentially the next Apple Watch/Apple TV. According to the Wall Street Journal we'll likely see what they've got in store for us come September 12th.

Just for a bit of fun, Pete Pachal from Mashable has also gone on further to predict when we might see the new iPhones' arrival based on the patterns from the last couple of years. Of course, remember that this might also be the first year Apple plans to release three new iPhones into the mix, so take everything with a big pinch of salt.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Apple+Watch/iPhone+8/news.asp?c=75133 Tue, 29 Aug 2017 14:02:00 GMT Review: Sennheiser GSP 350 - "More than just a gaming headset?" <img src="http://images.pocketgamer.co.uk/artwork/imgthumbs/na-acpix/sennheiser-gsp-350.jpg" width="200" alt="Sennheiser GSP 350 - "More than just a gaming headset?"" border="0" align="left" style="margin:5px 10px 10px 0px;"> If you're in the market for a decent set of headphones that don't cost you an arm and a leg, you can't really go wrong with Sennheiser.

Though prices do vary pretty drastically across their range of products, you can rest assured you'll not only find something to match your budget, but that it will be of solid quality.

It makes sense then, that the music-loving gamer might consider grabbing a Sennheiser headset to both chat with their friends and listen to music without compromise.

And Sennheiser claims to deliver just that with the GSP 350. Does the sound wizard succeed in its goal? Let's find out.

Look

The Sennheiser GSP 350 won't win awards for its design any time soon, but nor will you be embarrassed to whip it out and shove it on your head at a LAN party.

[read more] http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Apple+Watch/Sennheiser+GSP+350/hardware_review.asp?c=75084 Wed, 23 Aug 2017 15:06:00 GMT Be one of the first to experience Play NYC, New York City’s new premier games convention Calling all gamers and developers, this Summer will see a new dedicated gaming convention open its doors in New York City for the very first time. What are the most important bits of information from last night? Well..

Apple Watch OS 4

To kick things off yesterday, the Apple Watch is getting a bit of a tweak this autumn.
