Hydro Thunder Hurricane maker releases Riptide GP for Tegra 2 Android devices
Sea change
Vector Unit’s Android-exclusive Riptide GP has crested the final wave and landed safely in the graphically sparkling Tegra 2 waters.
Riptide GP is a racer in a similar vein to classic watersports title Waverace, in that you ride a variety of jet skis across water-based tracks, pulling off tricks and battling the waves
It looks splendid from the screenshots, aptly demonstrated the potential of Nvidia’s mobile CPU/GPU, although that does mean those without such a device will be left all at sea if they want to take part in the game’s 12 tracks and three game modes.
Vector Unit previous titles include the Xbox Live Arcade racer Hydro Thunder Hurricane, so there’s a strong racing pedigree behind this Android debut, especially when it comes to futuristic water racing.
Riptide GP is out now for Tegra 2 tablets and handsets for $6.99/£4.31 (link).
