Real Football 2008 signs Peter Crouch

If Liverpool won't play him, Gameloft will!

Real Football 2008 signs Peter Crouch

Say what you like about Peter Crouch (and people do), but he's got a fantastic goalscoring record for England, he does a mean robot dance, and despite his unconvential good looks, managed to bag model Abi Clancy as his WAG of choice. Respect.

You can add a new achievement to that list now: Crouch is one of the coverstars for Gameloft's Real Football 2008 game, which is due out later this month. It's him, Brazilian striker Robinho and Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro.

But what about the game? Well, it's the first time the Real Football series has been fully 3D – including the players and stadia. There are also a bunch of dynamic cameras on the pitch, as well as over 200 clubs and countries to play as.

Gameloft says players will have recognisable skills, too, such as Robinho's dribbling and Crouch's heading (we're sure Pete isn't that good at heading the ball, despite being 3.1-metres tall, but maybe they mean flick-ons).

It's going to be quite an autumn for mobile footy fans, since Real Football 2008 will be going head-to-head with FIFA 08 and Pro Evolution Soccer – the latter hitting mobile for the first time.

Stay tuned for all the news and reviews to help you decide which one to buy.
