![]() The DSi is a major disappointment and is not going to sell as well as the DS Lite. The DSi should have had a more powerful graphics processor and hard drive so it can compete with the latest mobile phones, such as the iPhone which is going to wipe the floor with DSi in 2009!
What good is another 0.25 inches of screen, its still going to be useless for web browsing! Nintendo may have done a good job with design of DS Lite (which is now outdated) and the Wii but they have seriously messed up this time - idiots! Joined:

![]() It's pretty much what I expected to have feature-wise.
Just a few small upgrades here and there, nothing major. TBH, I don't blame them, you'd have all sorts of compatibility issues if you increase resolution, processsor speed etc etc. As it is, adding the camera will mean some apps will only work on the DSi. Personally I feel the iphone is catering to a different market. The iphone is a phone primarily, the DS (and DSi) is a games console primarily. Adding little features here and there for a specific model of a product is normal, you see that with cars etc. For more serious added features like a HDD, faster procesor, more memory, better resolution etc should be for a new handheld (DS2?) not a new iteration of the same thing. Would I buy a DSi? Well eventually probably, we have 3 DS lites in our household, I have one, my son has one and my wife has one. I'm giving my DS lite to my daughter soon, so I'll be in the market for a new DS(i), but I can wait until next year for it. Joined:

![]() What I really need is a low power warning light I can actually see.
Being red-green colour blind along with 8% of the world's male population a small green light going red (or is it a red light that turns green?) is completely useless. All the other upgrades are pointless if the unit is going to die on me without a warning I can see. Joined:

![]() i have a dsi and it has really good quality and im typing this right now with the dsi .
and for all those people who think it stinks for it to not play game boy games just hack it thats what i did. but nintendo did really mess up with the sd card it makes the dsi allot more evonerable to hack like the wii/ps3/psp/and the easiest computer. but its still the best handheld nintendo system ever made so far. i mean look dsi shop web browser and portable and unlike any other sony or nintendo system it takes any kind of sd card i put in a 48 gig and if you dont think those exist your wrong. i hacked mine to play videos using flash. ![]() It is great for kids who enjoy taking pictures, and its a great way to practice photography. With the picture editor it makes picture editing fun! The graphics are not so good though. It has 2 cameras, 3.0 MP an one 0.3 MP. I rate the Colorful new DSI a great 6 out of 10 stars. Real big dissapointment on the stock market!!

![]() Hi in answer to some of your questions above as I have just bought a dsi and i think its one of the best devices available on te market!
Natalia wanted to know if the browser is free, 'yes it is you can download it for free once you have registered your product and takes seconds to install' Martin Milner you metioned you have problems with 2 colors 'red and green' Well your in luck cause when the power is up the led is a bright vivid 'blue' and goes to 'red flashing' when battery is running low... ![]() hey
I have a DSi and its MADSOME they are really good and to me the grafics seem a million times better than ds lite And NOOO there are heeps more things to to do like record sounds and listen to your music go on the web and heeps more like theres so much to do its like a Mini laptop its soo mad, they also work alot faster seriously they are REALLY good and for all who think they are rubbish U's are the rubbish ones LOL jks we all have diffi apinions LOL JUSTICE | 22 July 2009
![]() I am a huge nintendo fan,but even i know that they need to start giveing people what they whant. If they whant better graphics and more memory then so be it. They don't need to worry about making it expensive as long as they get those two things. I mean if people where willing to pay 600$ for a ps3 and 200$ for a psp then they should have done it.
P.S im useing my dsi to post this i told you im a huge nintendo fan some guy | 31 July 2009
![]() I'm dissapointed in the DSi, I haven't got one yet but I'm not going to...
LOOK AT THE CONS! to me I think I don't really need a 4.5 millimetres longer stylus, sd cards (I actually use them on DSlite, but on an R4), a different menu, and a bigger screen! if you think about it, it's quite pointless and If i ever do buy one, I'm going to wait until the DSlite has long gone, and the Dsi is much cheaper than it is now... (patience saves money) and, what about the battery time? I always hate 'portable' consoles you have to keep next to a plug for recharging COS I COULDNT GO ANYHWERE WITHOUT IT NEEDING A RECHARGE! on an adventure trip (school), we went to cornwall, and so everyone brought their DSs, Lites, and two people had a Dsi, I sat next to my frined who had a Dsi and his battery ran out before even half the journey! all the Dslites stayed on even when we got there! the dsi | 3 August 2009
![]() i love the dsi and everything about it is has soooo much approach space and has 2 cameras and it feeeels sooooo good i got it as a gift and when you go on dsi shop they give you 1000 points (only in london)
ps.all true i am writing this on my wii loopylisa | 23 August 2009
![]() Can someone tell me if i can play mulptyplay with someone who has a ds lite when i have a dsi????
Crystal | 26 August 2009
![]() some guy, the reason why your friends dsi might of died quicker is because the lighting was on high, high light kills the battery quicker.
loopylisa, it depends. If it's something like American Popstar you wouldn't be able to connect with the ds lite. If it's something for ds, ds lite AND dsi like Animal Crossing: Wild World, you would be able to connect with a ds lite when u have a dsi. the dsi, It's not only in london that you get 1000 free dsi points. If you get the dsi and go to the dsi shop and ur able to connect in the first few days you get the dsi you get 1000 free dsi points for getting it done so quick. BrannyBabe, The camera is not, i repeat, NOT, the only difference between the dsi and the ds lite. It's one of them. Differences: Internet Dsi Shop Dsi Camera Dsi Sound Certain games ONLY for the dsi System Updates Downloadable games from Dsi shop Different Design SD Card Stylus AC Adapter And a few others..... You don't HAVE to buy a dsi online, but you could. You can go to somewhere like GameStop to get one. The DSi is about $162.99. If you give in your ds lite, it's about $90 or $80. It's a bit higher than $90 if you trade in a regular ds, and a bit higher than that if you trade in a game boy. And you're last question...I don't really know. And MOD, how do you hack for flash? I want to play habbo, but i can't install!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moonstar 986 | 22 September 2009
![]() Can you trade in your D.S. lite anywhere and get a DSI for free? Someone told me you can do it at Meijer.
My Two Cents | 25 September 2009
![]() I kept my DS lite and bought a DSI thinking the camera is a waste ( I'm an adult well past my 30's, and the camera actually gets a lot if use from me for practical purposes (since I don't own a camera on my cell) and the photo editing is actually a great deal more fun than I had initially anticipated. The case is definately constructed more sturdy which is a major PLUS, the web browser, well that all depends on what you're used to having available to you on the go now, and what you're used to using daily as to how good it is... (NO plug ins like java, or such allowed)
What burns my britches is the DS lite has constant ON WiFi signal and a de3cent battery Life, the DSi which has the option of shutting the WIFi signal off (thereby saving power) actually uses MORE power and hacks the battery life all to heck and by hack I mean it DECREASES the time usable. I'm forever on the power cord even though my WiFi signal is off most of the time. (Lithiom Ion Charge Ideosycracies taken into consideration as well) One of the BIGGEST pluses for me is you can change the carts without shutting down the system, just shutting the game itswelf off after save, pull cart and tap on screen icon, no shut down needed. Now I actually enjoy most of the DSiware that's come out, and most people are not... All things considered...If I had it to do again knowing what I now know, with my present experiences, I'd have stuck with my orignal DS lite and bought a few games with the money I spent on the DSi. If it's your first system well go for it... but I wouldn't bother upgrading it. Even the camera aspects of the few games that are going to be using it, those announced and the few already released poverseas.. they feel tacked on and un necesarry. PS | 25 September 2009
![]() According to Big N, the DSI chip IS actually faster than the DSi one but few if any game designers are taking advantage of it but preferring to use standards that all systems can share across the board.
Also By thier own admission, Nintendo uses the cheapest [parts ie low capability cameras instead of the newest and fastest) parts available, not risking quality but instead choosing dependable technology, not new unexplored stuff. Therefore, they will never be in a race for the fastest system of the BEST of anything with thier consoles or handhelds. By their pown admission, they preferr to be big fishes in little ponds withsomething no one else is doing. Competition is NOT thier goal. All that said I stand by thier stuff (and buy it all) for the (high)entertainment value, 100% FanGuy all the way. Go Big N. They still do MORE with LESS. One more thing | 25 September 2009
![]() Just for clairity, I don't feel the DSi is a waste, just not needed if one has a DS lite.

![]() hey guys this is mod again i have been getting lots of questions since my last posts and right now im just ganna answer 1 from Crystal i had to hack into the systems code to make it so i could download things from the internet and have them work and use flash and stuff like that but hacking inceases the risk of your ipod shutting down and i mean for good so i wouldn't recommend hacking oh and i have java now

So whats the uproar about. Most game designers and system designer are idiots. JOIN THE DISCUSSION...
