Ed: i expect its because youre using the boost at the start of the level, which costs 2,500 coins.

How come every time I get up to around 3,000 coins they seem to zero out and start over even if I don't upgrade or buy power-ups?

Hello, I would like to say that i am hooked on Temple Run and Temple Run 2. On TR2 sometimes as i slide down the zip wire i notice another path above and have tried to jump off to get to this path. Is it possible or just another part of the scenery. If it is possible how do i execute the move to get on it?
