While it's certainly not an eggsorbitant amount for all the work described...I would question whether so much effort is worth it for a - let's say - £1.99 game. A game that in AppStore terms is basically a new IP; given the quite small proportion of 'nostalgia' investors/buyers.
And while a modern take on -let's face it - a quite timeless & fun mechanic with pretty rendering/physics/super scrollable levels all sounds eggciting, it may be hard (boiled) to pull off such an eggstravagant remake under the onslaught of all these puns. (._• )
• and if Simon Pegg is unavailable, I vote for Gregg Kinnear >_<
