I'd say that if the golden week is supposed to see a surge, it was a weak result all round. Definitely weaker for the Vita, but the Vita needs more games, particularly in this context tailored to the Japanese market. It'll get there, but not for a little while, as they take time to make, and Sony have clearly focussed more on the west (sensibly, as it's a larger market). I wouldn't worry about the Vita in Japan - once Monster Hunter turns up on it, it'll sell by the truckloads.

I'm rooting for the Vita. I have both a Vita and a 3DS. I like my Vita a lot more than my 3DS. I feel the Vita comes out on top with a better quality system. However, both systems lack enough good games to keep me happy. There's a few games on both systems that I like, but the rest of what's out there is pretty much garbage in my opinion. I'm patiently waiting for Gravity Rush to be released. Sony needs to start getting some big name games released for the Vita. I've lost hope for the 3DS getting any super great games outside of the usual series such as Mario games.
