I'm gonna go with your advice and grab Wario Land sharpish rather than waiting. Damn my compulsive eShop addiction! Regarding DK vs M, my hunch was with Donkey Kong too, so that'll be next on the list.

You're also absolutely right about the good lady wife, I am underestimating her. After nearly 18 years of marriage, I really should know better than to risk pulling a crafty one shouldn't I. I'll be celebrating the big four-o in July, but if I get my collar felt while trying to smuggle in another VC title without her express approval, I fear I might not get there! Damn you and your mocking Wario, damn you!

Simon I'd say Wario Land is better than Super Mario Land 2. It's easily the best Wario game while Super Mario Land 2 certainly isn't the best Mario game.

Also prefer Donkey kong to Metroid. Wouldn't advise hiding it from your wife though. I fear you could be underestimating her craftiness and thats sounds like a recipe for trouble. Also Wario would just laugh at you if you got caught.

@Mike - I wonder if you could you tell me which you prefer, this one or it's predecessor, 6 Golden Coins?

I eventually want to adorn my 3DS with every VC game on the eShop, and in the last couple of months I've downloaded Catrap, SML2, Super Mario Bros, Links Awakening and Tetris, but my Mrs will murder me if I spend another yet another £3.60 so soon! As a gamer of a certain age, the VC titles are fabulously nostalgic and hugely enjoyable for me, but I somehow missed out on Wario Land the first time round and I feel that I missed out.

With all that borne in mind, what's your advice? Do I sit tight and wait a while or do laugh in the face of danger and download it right now? My wife is crafty, but if I really try, maybe I can sleep with one eye open!

Lastly, what should be next on my shopping list after SML3? Donkey Kong or Metroid (GB/GBC)?
