Ports of classics shouldn't be considered

I agree. Peggle is an awesome game, but only because it's new on a platform it doesn't make it a new game. When I first got this game 3 years ago for my 360 it was a blast to play, and playing it now with touch controls on iPad's big screen feel like the right and natural way to play it, but still it's the same game all over. There are incredible games on iOS that could have topped Peggle for best game, and that could even make a top 10 list of games that deserve the award. A great game, still, not new to run as 2011 game. No improvements other than how you play was made.

The movie analogy is one that sprang to mind for me. I'd hope you wouldn't see The Lion King winning a BAFTA this year because it had a cinema re-release in 3D.
