About 10 months ago parchased B/N G4.Wannt's got home,Was working fine
Without Unlocking or else, connect to iTunes 10.7 thru pc. Machine said I can
Get version 5.1.1 . But no luck, I can hardly use original softwares.
It says I have to use original simcard that came with device.Please tell me what to do.
P.S.I bought device in Australia with no sim,now I am in midle east. Thanks so much. HASSAN MOHEB

animalxcrackers - Older iOS devices won't receive the most up-to-date firmwares. So, I'm sorry to say, 3.1.3 is the most recent FW the first gen iPod can get!

Took 6 or maybe 7 tries for me. Important to update machine to latest software (if using Mac) and update iTunes to most current version before doing anything else. Then reboot. Might not hurt to boot phone too. Unplug all other USB devices from computer and then reboot again. Start itunes, then plug phone into USB slot and when prompted, start update. Think servers are overloading or something, so just keep trying.

Once I had downloaded the update it says "The ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3200).
