![]() We all know Nintendo has played a blinder with DS software and innovation wise, but it doesn't get so much credit for making the right hardware calls. DS has two screens, and one is a touchscreens -- potentially expensive stuff, but by driving it with well-judged for the cost and fairly easily exploitable hardware, it's delivered just enough graphical firepower to deliver whatever handheld games a developer could want right now.
My only question mark is how long will cut it -- as long as the original Game Boy before it got its colour upgrade, for instance? Games like Brain Training will probably *never* need better graphics than they have today. But 3D shooters of the calibre of Metroid Prime Hunters have been conspicously thin on the ground, and Mario Kart aside the situation is even more stark. Of course, NONE of us love DS for those sorts of games, take that for granted. But will we eventually wish we had them, alongside all the quirkier fare, too? If so, we need more external developers like Vicarious Visions to really get to grips with the hardware fast. Good thing they shared their secrets! Joined:

![]() I think most people didn't buy their DS's for impressive 3D gaming and I'm included. I'd rather have less 'cute' and more 'serious.'
