I've posted this over at Mashable...The problem Nokia had here was that they were too scared to put money into marketing the platform alongside their normal activity. There was also the challenge of not having the platform installed with each compatible handset upon purchase.
Games like Yamake and COD were great, but were limited to so few people that Nokia were never going to able to able make enough money to sustain N-gage. That and the distribution process was a nightmare...
Right idea, wrong execution.
