Generally we don't need to splurge too much over free apps, since you can try themout for yourselves without cost nor risk, but… well, any excuse to talk about Kenta Cho, to be honest.

Freeware and doujin-soft fans will know Cho's name very well, as he's the designer of more hot shooters than most coin-op developers put together. And now he's made it to the App Store courtesy of Lazrhog, which has adapted his awesome, line-drawn quasi-space shooter, rRootage to the iPhone.

There's also some riveting rumours soaring through cyberspace about a second Cho conversion (also from Lazrhog), Noiz2sa; another rip roaring blaster in a similar aesthetic to rRootage, but with very different mechanics.

Anyone eager to check out more Cho (after downloading rRootage) should swing by ABA Games for some hot, doujin-soft freeware

Arigato, yo!

Spanner Spencer
Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
