Companion apps for games are becoming a common theme these days, with Halo's ATLAS app and Mass Effect 3's Datapad leading the way.

Now Sony Computer Entertainment has got in on the act by releasing Starhawk Uplink app [Google Play] [App Store].

Hawking its wares

Released to interact with the recently released PS3 title, Starhawk Uplink features everything you'd expect from a companion app- access to statistics about your player, leaderboards and your Playstation Network friends.

There's also access to news and announcements on the go, as well as clan information and links to related websites. All in all, if you've got any interest in Starhawk, then it's likely the companion app is worth a download.

Starhawk Uplink is available now for iPad, iPhone and Android devices for free.
