The Sims Pool is on your iPod

Who wants some hot avatar-based potting action?

Okay, if we're honest, The Sims Pool has been available for your iPod for a little while now, but it's only come to our attention amidst all the excitement around Apple's new iPod Touch and game-capable iPod nanos.

The game sees you creating and customising a Sim character, then playing 9-ball or 8-ball pool with them (or, if you're feeling flash, reeling off a succession of trick shots).

EA Mobile reckons it's nailed a solid control mechanism using the iPod scroll-wheel, while the graphics look slick and attractive on the iPod's hi-res colour screen.

As ever, you'll be able to swap your own tunes in for the game's soundtrack, although be warned: Cradle of Filth won't improve your potting. Trust us, we tried in our local pub (and have been banned from using the jukebox as a result).

We're going to be reviewing a bunch of iPod games in the coming days, so click 'Track It!' for an email alert when we get round to The Sims Pool.
