EA Mobile has released The Sims DJ for iPod. The game went on sale this week for £3.99, and is based on the same core gameplay as the existing mobile version.

Well, except for one marvellous twist, that is. The basic idea is still to create a Sim and turn them into a superstar DJ by filling the dancefloors of a succession of clubs, matching tunes to dancers' preferences to do well.

But whereas the mobile version involved creating songs from predefined loops, here you're DJing with the songs stored on your iPod.

It's good news for every narcissistic bedroom DJ who reckons they could rock a dancefloor. Although possibly bad news for anyone whose iPod is stuffed with Cradle of Filth live bootlegs and nothing else.

Anyway, being able to use your own tunes should add a whole new aspect to the game, so we're keen to see how The Sims DJ performs on iPod. Click 'Track It!' above for an alert when we review it.
