Zap orcs and flambé trolls with Siege Hero Wizards, now available on the App Store

The Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning Siege Hero has received a new sequel this week in the form of Siege Hero Wizards.

This high-fantasy, low-investment physics puzzle game might look like a first-person version of Angry Birds but don't say that too loudly around developer Armor Games. Its Crush the Castle - which features gameplay rather similar to Rovio's flagship game – beat Angry Birds to the market by half a year.

Anyway, that's all in the past and Siege Hero Wizards is the future - and the future looks wonderful.

Orc fried right

Dabbling a bit with Siege Hero Wizards, it plays a lot like the first Siege Hero with a few noticeable additions - namely orcs, goblins, and trolls.

Like the first game, you tap a section of the screen to send a shot out (in this case, a mystical bolt of energy) and you'll occasionally find friendly characters that you'll need to rescue (read: not kill).

Unlike the first Siege Hero, which jumped around from the high seas to the old west, Siege Hero Wizards stands with its feet firmly planted in a fantasy world that'll resonate with Warcraft and Lord of the Rings fans alike.

You'll probably want to check this one out if you liked Angry Birds but always longed for it to be a first-person puzzler that had you zapping armies of goblins and toppling towers with your mystic might.
