Popular iPhone publisher ngmoco, responsible for games like We Rule and Rolando, has announced that four of its older freemium titles will be shut down later this month.

On January 16th, Epic Pet Wars, Epic Chef Wars, Epic Crime Wars, and Titan Wars will have their servers turned off, making the online-only titles unplayable.

The games were free to download, and had you coming back daily to go on quests, hire team members, and fight with other players. You could also spend real world cash to get more experience and items in game.

They were all made by developer Miraphonic, which was gobbled up by ngmoco in late 2009. But with ngmoco’s acquisition by Japanese megafirm DeNA last year, the company has had to lose some excess baggage to concentrate on its more popular games like We Farm and We Doodle.

Are you still playing these freemium games? Are you disappointed to see them discontinued? Let us know in the comments below.
