Whited00r 5.1 mod adds Newsstand, Reminders, multitasking, and other iOS 5 features to your old iPhone or iPod touch
Hacked, not slashed
If you're still rocking one of Apple's first-, second-, or third-generation iPhone or iPod touch devices, you'll probably be sick to the back teeth of hearing your friends bang on about their new iPhone 4S and its nifty iOS 5 features.
Fear not, though: you can now also get your grubby mitts on its best attributes - providing you're willing to jailbreak your device, that is.
The Whited00r 5.1 mod is a customised version of Apple's official firmware, which is designed to bring the majority of iOS 5's features to your ageing device.
These include multitasking, Apple's Reminders app, homescreen folders, Newsstand, and Home screen backgrounds, as well as a Dropbox-powered iCloud-esque feature.
When it rains, it pours
Unfortunately, installing the Whited00r 5.1 mod will prevent you from accessing the App Store on your device. Apple's Notification Center is also missing from the line-up of included features.
You can download Whited00r 5.1 from its website. It's compatible with the iPhone 3G and above and all iPod touch models.
