Apple sells more than 4 million iPhone 4S units in first weekend, more than double iPhone 4 launch
25 million using iOS 5
Apple has announced that it has shifted a whopping 4 million iPhone 4S units in the three days following its launch.
Despite initial concerns about the lack of a new design, Apple's iPhone 4S also managed to muster an impressive 1 million pre-orders in its first 24 hours.
“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing.
Software-wise, Apple claims that more than 25 million customers have already adopted iOS 5, with more than 20 million of those signing-up for the Cupertino company's iCloud service.
The iPhone 4S features a new dual-core A5 processor, an improved 8MP camera, and a mouthy assistant called Siri. You can grab it in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models.
