According to a news report on YouTube, the number of mobile video uploads has increased by 400 per cent every day since the iPhone 3GS was released last Friday.

The increase presumably begins with iPhone hardware update's ability to record video, although YouTube also points out that improvements have been made to the upload flow when you post a video from your phone.

But this isn't the first influx of mobile videos the popular social website has seen. Over the last six months, uploads from mobile phones have jumped by a whopping 1700 per cent, much of which is undoubtedly down to the iPhone 3G and games such as Fast & Furious and Real Racing from Firemint, which allow direct upload to YouTube of game replays.

Given the easy access between social sites such as YouTube, Facebook, Google and Twitter, it would seem the iPhone is becoming the handset choice of online social generation
