Rumour: iPhone 5 to arrive late 2011, even early 2012
Low spec iPhone may also be on the cards
The iPhone 5 may not be released until late 2011 or early 2012, according to technology research company Avian Securities.
The company explains in a report that this conclusion arises from conversations with a "key component supplier" to Apple.
The note reads, “conversations with yet another key component supplier indicates that production for iPhone-5 will begin in September. This is consistent with Avian findings in the supply chain in recent months and we believe the consensus view is moving towards this scenario.”
If true, this would place the iPhone 5's release date around late 2011 or, more likely, early 2012.
On another note, the report even hints at a lower specced iPhone to come, when Apple’s business roadmap was investigated.
So far, of course, no details of the iPhone 5 have been released from the source that really matters – Apple. BusinessInsider
