Donkey Kong iPhone clone hits the App Store
Gone by tomorrow, probably |
Nintendo's classic platformer Donkey Kong has come to iPhone, in the form of a game called iDonkeyKong from developer VeryGames.
No, of course it's not official. And as soon as Nintendo's lawyers catch wind of it, it'll probably be removed.
The 59p game runs in landscape mode, with the actual gameplay only taking up about half the screen in a portrait-sized window - with the rest devoted to virtual buttons to move and jump.
"Remember the hours spent on this game in the arcade," runs its blurb on the App Store. It doesn't look like quite as many hours were spent making this iPhone clone.
Anyway, grab it while you can, if you're interested - the Buy It button below links straight through to its product page on the App Store.
Apple has shown in the past that it will speedily remove games like this from the App Store when notified by the copyright owners, though, so you may need to be quick.

Looks ace nearly reason enough to get an iphone!

Not worth the download. This is purely a moneygrab from the developers. They essentially are selling a screenshot. There is NO SOUND in the game. The only level is the one in the screenshot. They expect it to be down in hours, but if 10,000 people pay .99c for their screenshot, they laugh all the way to the bank. Please change your new article to discourage people from dloading it.

Man, the app approval process needs some serious re-thinking.
"iDonkeyKong"? and no one questioned the name?
and the baby shaker?
hmm, although I would like to see that old Atari ST game called Schoolyard Slaughter and let's not forget "AstroTit" from ye olde DOS days on the IBM pc!
