Time to tank it as iBomber series returns to iOS in iBomber Attack

Having reviewed the initial release in 2009, as well as the tower defence version of 2010, it's fair to say I'm a longterm fan of the iBomber games.

So I'm looking forward to the next iteration - iBomber Attack.

Once again developed by Cobra Mobile and published by Chillingo, the WWII-themed topdown arcade action game sees you jumping into a tank and letting rip.

Make some tracks

24 levels are promised, which will have you making a mess of naval dockyards, airfields, and legions of flame-throwing soldiers who are guarding secret Nazi bases.

As you go on your merry way, you'll be collecting Victory Points and upgrading your tank with super boosts, bombs, airstrikes, bunker busters and supply drops.

But, as you can see from the video below, the game's main attraction will be the quality of the graphics and audio, combined with simple but intensive gameplay. Unlike some of the ponderous tanks games we've played iBomber Attack looks like it could be as fluid as a sidescrolling shoot-'em up.

We'll get to find out if that's the case when it's released on 1st November.

No pricing has been announced, but we'd expect it to be 99c, 69p, €0.89.
