Gekido: The Dark Angel

Think you know fighting games? NAPS says you ain’t seen nothing yet

Gekido: The Dark Angel

Friendly Japanese developer NAPS Team has announced that its Gekido fighting series is coming to the PSP. The game has been completely reworked for Sony’s machine and, based on the quality of the screenshots to date, we suspect NAPS’ artists haven’t been going home on time. Whether you're in a creepy cave or strolling through some medieval European village, the setting around the game’s sword-wielding protagonist looks uncommonly detailed and atmospheric. As long as the programmers have also been putting the hours in on the action as well, everything should move as smoothly as a katana through butter, too.

Perhaps more intriguing is the promise of a completely revolutionary fighting system which NAPS is excitedly stating will force everyone to look at the action fighting genre in a completely new light. But as a release date has yet to be set, we’re just going to have to wait to see whether that’s the case.
