OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast

Classic arcade racer powerslides its way onto the PSP in updated, much improved form

OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast

Like crabs on a beach, powerful, rear-wheel drive cars are usually happiest when going sideways. Clearly aware of this, Sega has created a game based around a group of tail-happy vehicles speeding their way through varied countryside with some of the widest and longest bends ever seen in a videogame. The potential for sideways car-related frolics couldn’t be more obvious.

And not just any old cars, either. Coast to Coast is a fully licensed Ferrari product and as such features 15 examples of the finest machinery to have emerged from the world famous Maranello factory, including the very latest model, the F430.

The game offers a variety of modes, including full renditions of the OutRun2 and OutRun2 SP arcade versions (which combine to deliver 60 stages of pure racing fun) and currently plays as well as it looks. If all goes according to plan, expect to be throwing Ferraris sideways at silly speeds come March.
