Prolific publisher Chillingo's latest iOS app is an absurd game that combined the elegance of diving with the gross-out humour of dunking a zombie into a paddling pool filled with poo.

You start each jump by firing the reanimated corpse of Hubo into the air like a rotting Angry Bird. Then, you need to apply judicious use of the spin button to unleash backflips.

Each stage has judges who are looking for specific tricks, so you'll need to do the right spins, and enter the pool (or barrel of oil) in the right way.

That's if you make it into the drink at all. The gorgeously detailed stages are filled with traps and physics objects intent on slowing you down, knocking you off course, or slicing your head clean off.

Zombie High Dive

It's a free to play game, so expect a few in-app purchases. You can buy brain biscuits (used to bribe judges for an extra drive) and brain cakes (used to restore energy if you don't want to wait) at the usual price points.

Zombie High Dive is not the most cerebral game out there, but it's got a great art style, a quirky sense of humour, and an original premise. Give it a go when it hits the App Store at midnight tonight, on iPhone and iPad.
