Developer Calis Projects promised that it would constantly evolve and update Zenforms: Protectors when it released the Pokemon-style battler on the App Store back in September of last year.

Today, more than six months after it was first launched, Zenforms: Protectors has received the first of those content updates.

For starters, Zenforms: Protectors is now compatible with Apple's larger-screened iPhone 5 and the iPad. It's now a Universal app, in other words.

After downloading this update, you'll find a new icon for a Network Features sub-menu on the Zenforms: Protectors Main Menu.

If you click on this icon, you can download new content (directly from Calis Projects's servers) from within Zenforms: Protectors, and access "dynamic online event promotions" like item giveaways.

The Network Features sub-menu will eventually house in-app purchases, and serve as a hub for trading Zenforms, Alt, and even Skill Points with your friends.

Other features introduced in this update include a new battle UI and some minor attack animations (more will be added in future updates); six new maps and additional storyline content; and fresh difficulty settings.

You can now hold 12 Zenforms at any one time, too.

Grab Zenforms: Protectors from the App Store for £1.49 / $1.99 right now.
