After a slew of RPGs, most recently Djinn Caster, Kemco is trying its hand at a new genre with Yodanji, a roguelike available for iOS and Android.

Choosing between various captured "yokai" - powerful beings from Japanese folk tales - you descend into multi-leveled dungeons. Each yokai brings unique abilities and attacks into battle, from the immobilizing slices of a scythe-armed weasel to freezing touch of a ghostly traveler.

As you explore the procedurally-generated levels, you capture new yokai and add them to your playable collection, letting you try playthroughs with their various abilities. Survive long enough, and powerful amulets along with skill upgrades can allow for new attacks against the overwhelming creatures lurking on each stage

Yodanji can be purchased for £2.99 / $2.99 on the App Store and Google Play.
