2K is set to drop the price of five iOS games tomorrow, for its '2K Mobile Spring Sale'. And the headline game is alien blaster XCOM: Enemy Within, which will be just £3.99 / $4.99.

This is both the original XCOM: Enemy Unknown - a deft mix of turn-based tactical combat and tricky diplomatic strategy - and its expansion pack Enemy Within - which added cybernetic powers and mech suits.

We said "Enemy Within certainly makes XCOM feel fresh and exciting again, and the new additions will appeal to diehard fans of the original who want something different for their next ironman run" in our Gold Award review.

Other games on sale include the iffy Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 for £3.99 / $4.99, and sporty sims NBA 2K15 for £2.29 / $2.99 and NHL 2K for the same.

And finally there's BioShock, which I maintain is horribly ill fitted to be played on a phone or tablet and you shouldn't spoil this terrific cult-classic shooter by squeezing it onto your mobile.

But if you must ignore me, then you can get it for £2.29 / $2.99 - which is quite a saving from £8.49 / $10.99.

We'll try and remember to bump this post when the savings actually go live. Until then, start saving those pennies.
