The Sunday papers and puzzle books are an ideal distraction for those lazy mornings, but what happens if you want to kick your brain into gear? Word Rush is a word-search game in a bit of a hurry, and it's out now on iOS and Android.

For those who hate pressure, this may not be for you as you play against the clock to find the words at the top of the chart. Word Rush has two game modes to play around with. Both starting off with 60 seconds, Survival lets you gain extra time by finding one of the words, whilst Rush is a bit more unforgiving. With no second chances or possibilities of extra time, Rush is a cold-hearted killer.
Design-wise, it's hardly striking through its almost bland simplicity, but I love the fact that you have to react instantly. 60 seconds is actually not a large amount of time, and so a game like this would be perfect to using each morning to give your pattern recognition a bit of a tweak.
