How do you maintain interest in your ageing iOS game and prevent it from being buried underneath all those hip young upstarts with their in-app purchases and their hip hop?

One tried-and-tested solution, adopted by Disney for its Where's My Water? game, is to keep chucking free new levels at your customers.

After a busy September in which Disney marked Where's My Water?'s first birthday with some bonus levels, then released a Halloween-themed level pack for it, The House of Mickey has launched its boldest initiative for the game yet.

Disney will add three brand-new free levels to Where's My Water? every week from now on. These will be broken down into one Swampy, one Mystery Duck, and one Cranky level each time.

We're not sure how long this will go on for, but it'll all come at no extra charge. Generous, eh?

That doesn't mean to say you can take Disney's generosity for granted, though. Oh, no. The game's updated App Store page warns: "make sure you play every week because once these levels expire they may be gone for good!"

And thus Disney ensures that people keep on playing its game regularly. We'd be tempted to call it sneaky, but any hint of cynicism looks ridiculous in the face of this simple fact: it means loads more fun for free.

You can grab Where's My Water? from the App Store for 69p / 99c right this second. As we've already mentioned, it's not lacking in content.
