If all the Warhammer 40,000 games released thus far have been a bit too cerebral for your tastes, then the big, dumb, hack-and-slash actioner Warhammer 40,000: Carnage might be more up your street.

The game stars a rampaging Ultramarine on his side-scrolling quest to shoot and slash a whole bunch of orks and nobs (quit giggling in the back).

Money earned from beating up nasty green goblin dudes can be spent on acquiring bigger and better weapons, which helps you kill more orks to earn more cash to buy even biggerer and betterer weapons.

The game's got 50 levels, split across a pair of maps, and you can play most of those stages in asynchronous co-op 'Fireteam' missions with your. Game Center pals to unlock more loot and epic gear.

Warhammer 40,000: Carnage is out on iPhone and iPad at midnight tonight, and it will cost £4.99 / $6.99. You'll need an iPhone 4S or better, iPad 2 or newer, or iPod touch 5 to play it.

We'll have a review soon. Until then, see it in action in our PG First Play video above.
