Volcano Escape heating up for a February 17th iPhone release
Eruption imminent
Bravo Game Studios has announced a February 17th release date for its upcoming action-platformer Volcano Escape.
Taking control of war veteran Colonel Charlie Bravo, you must run, jump, and shoot your way through volcanic demons without singeing your behind.
The action begins on your summer vacation, which goes awry when you become an unwilling sacrificial offering to the local tribe's lava gods.
You have one life to climb as high as you can, avoid the rising level of lava and escape the tribal minions out to sacrifice you. As Colonel Charlie Bravo you have an arsenal at your disposal that includes jet packs and various weapons to fend off the hellish hordes.
Once shot, enemies turn into stone statues. In what Bravo Game Studios is referring to as "a unique gameplay twist," these statues then form platforms which aid your escape.
Volcano Escape is set to ship with support for Game Center leaderboards and achievements. Highscores can also be shared with friends via Facebook and Twitter.
Five unlockable characters (some through in-app purchases), numerous upgrades and Retina display support are also included.
