Joystiq has picked up on a European trademark filing made by Square Enix that could point toward another music-based game in the works at the celebrated Japanese development studio.

Voice Fantasy has apparently been registered as a video game name (as opposed to a soundtrack or other audio content), which does lean toward Square Enix's recent penchant for bringing the soundtrack into the gameplay.

Song Summoner and Space Invaders Infinity Gene both make extensive use of the audio and music in the on-screen action, and Square Enix has been pouring a lot of attention on the iPhone lately, which suggests Voice Fantasy could easily be another of its experimental music-based games.

Given the title, it's not impossible that we're looking at some kind of iPod-centric Final Fantasy spin off, especially considering episodes one and two of the long-lived RPG series are expected to land on the App Store this week.

Other than the name, nothing else has been revealed, but we'll let you know as soon as we get more details on Voice Fantasy.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
