Updated on September 4th, at 9:35: Valiant Hearts is now available worldwide on iPhone and iPad. And it looks like we made an error with the pricing details. Sorry!

You can indeed buy the game for £2.99 / $4.99, but that will only grant you the first episode. You can get the other four as in-app purchases, for £2.49 / $3.99 each, or the whole bunch as a £5.99 / $8.99 bundle.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War, Ubisoft's World War I set graphic novel-style adventure game has just hit the App Store in New Zealand. That means it should be out in the UK at midnight tonight.

The game tells the story of four soldiers and a dog, and mixes together real-life events with a fictional narrative. There are puzzles to solve, areas to explore, and a lost love to reunite with a German soldier.

There's action too, and your canine helper can use his nose to sniff out solutions, and sneak through areas you wouldn't be able to access.

On top of that there's a lot to learn about the war itself, as you traipse through famous battles like the Somme and the Marne.

The game should set you back £2.99 / $4.99 when it lands in the UK later tonight. And you can check out a hands-on we had with the game at Gamescom at the top of the article.
