Unclear whether Apple will release drug-dealing iPhone game

Underworld still mired in App Store review process

Whatever happened to Underworld, the iPhone game formerly known as Drug Lords?

It was last heard of causing a tabloid kerfuffle here in the UK, being condemned by drugs charities for its drug-dealing subject matter. Yet it's still not available on the App Store.

Developer A-Steroids wrote on its blog on November 26th that Underworld had just been submitted to Apple for review, but since then... nothing.

Actually, comments on that blog post reveal what's happened to Underworld - it appears caught up in Apple's App Store approvals process, with A-Steroids seemingly having been given no indication whether this is due to the game's material.

Head of studio Andrey Podoprigora has responded to questions from readers several times on that post, saying that there's no news each time.

On December 23rd, he hinted that A-Steroids is mulling over its options. "We are going to wait a couple of days how it goes after xmas probably and then think about our other opportunities".

So if you're keenly awaiting the game's release, it seems January is your best bet.
