Fuzzy Face Games has revealed Tweechi, a new virtual pet game for iPhone.

Tweechi connects to your Twitter account, and allows you to earn in-game coins with retweets or by taking selfies with your pet. These coins – called Zips – can then be spent on mini-games, toys, and treats for said pet.

You can also receive daily bonuses, items, and experience points in return for taking care of your pet.

Rory Muldoon, co-founder and art director at Fuzzy Face Games, said "we designed Tweechi to be the game you play for sixty seconds every day", citing games like Animal Crossing as inspiration.

Chris Thomas, co-founder and director of Fuzzy Face Games, added "it became absolutely crucial to us early on that players of any age are able to enjoy Tweechi without having to spend real life money on soft currency".

Twitter integration is an interesting way of getting around that, and we're eager to see how it turns out.

Tweechi is due to be released this autumn, exclusive to iPhone. You can sign up for early adoption here.
