Tractor Trails developer Origin8 is working on a "revised" and "revitalised" version of Chris Sawyer's Transport Tycoon, for iOS and Android.

Originally released for MS-DOS back in 1994, Transport Tycoon thrusts you into the role of the manager of an up-and-coming transport company.

As big boss man, you're tasked with building hundreds of different transport routes that are capable of ferrying passengers and cargo around the world, and expanding your new business into a money-making empire.

As you progress, you'll be able to build many roads and railways, and eventually transport goods over seas and through the air.

This mobile version of Transport Tycoon has been designed and directed by developer Chris Sawyer, the original creator of the franchise.

Sawyer also created the first two entries in the ever-popular RollerCoaster Tycoon series.

Transport Tycoon will arrive on iOS and Android before the end of the year. As always, we'll let you know as soon as we have a solid release date.
