Transformers G1: Awakening takes a turn on iPhone
Turn-based strategy morphs from mobile to iPhone and iPod touch
Glu has announced plans to bring its well-received Transformers G1: Awakening turn-based strategy game to iPhone and iPod touch.
We gave the game a rave review way back in September 2008, for its masterful handling of resource management and straightforward tactical gameplay.
That's likely to remain intact for this iPhone and iPod touch version where you'll command the Autobots in their never-ending war against the Decepticons in turn-based battles inspired by the Advance Wars model.
Enhancements are planned, though Glu hasn't detailed any beyond the obvious graphical improvements being made. In fact, the game is receiving a complete new visual style.
As you can see from the single screenshot released today, the game bears a cel-shaded look in line with the original comic series. It's a battle snapshot, so we're keen to see what the battlefields look like.
No release date has been set for Transformers G1: Awakening, although Glu promises more details soon.
