It's only a matter of time before Townsmen hits iPhone

PSP Minis and DSiWare on the cards, too

Product: Townsmen (iPhone) | Publisher: HandyGames | Genre: Strategy
We all know that the world of mobile games is dominated by brands, but that doesn't mean they have to be from console games - such as The Sims - or from other entertainment sectors - like Monopoly and Deal or No Deal.

Perhaps the most successful mobile-only brand at the moment is HandyGames's Townsmen, which is currently on release number 6, and showing no signs of slowing down.

In fact, it's accelerating, with HandyGames's CEO Christopher Kassulke revealing the company is actively considering new platforms for the god game to conquer.

"It's just a matter of time until it will make a showing on other platforms. Building such a brand costs a lot of money and we want to make sure that it will be represented by a state-of-the-art product on other platforms. A simple port will not be what we are focusing on," he explains, when asked when Townsmen would be announced for iPhone, as part of a detailed interview on PocketGamer.biz.

Also asked about the likelihood of its arrival on PSP Minis and DSiWare, Kassulke said

"We are in talks with various developers and publishers to take our brands to these platforms, as well as others, but the development in these cases will be done by someone else. We will only make sure that brand integrity is maintained."
