Touchgrind BMX 2: A few reasons why you may like the trick-filled bike game

Touchgrind BMX 2 is one of the better extreme sports games on iOS and Android. With the resurgence of popularity in extreme sports thanks to the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, an announcement of Skate 4, and the small possibility of seeing Skate 3 on mobile (?), gamers are likely itching to get tricky.
Well, that itch can be scratched with a game like Touchgrind BMX 2 which is made by the same folks who created Touchgrind Skate 2. There aren't as many great BMX games anymore since the release of the popular Dave Mirra games many moons ago.
For mobile gamers, they have that chance now with Touchgrind, oh and as with most mobile games, it's free to play (hooray for perks). The goal is simple in that you're trying to get the highest scores possible on various tracks. Here are a few reasons why you might enjoy this BMX trick fest.
The Gameplay is a Blast
Gameplay is always critical for any game you play whether it's on mobile, console, PC, etc. Yes, this is pretty obvious, but Touchgrind BMX 2 is actually more fun than you'd expect. The amount of freedom you have to perform tricks is great.
And it actually looks kind of funny because there's no character on the bike so it's just the bike by itself and you use your fingers to control it (Oh, spooky). So I guess you can say that your fingers are the rider in this case. You can slide your fingers (or thumbs) in different directions to pull off tricks.
Doing this is a lot of fun, especially if you can string together some combos. Just be careful not to get too carried away because you will crash as you see your bike go flying off into oblivion (depends on how hard the crash is). Land those combos and you'll be racking up some sweet scores.
Great Tracks to Play On
In Touchgrind BMX 2, you're riding on bike tracks and you want to try and get the highest score possible before reaching the finish line. Many of these tracks are awesome, and frankly, quite beautiful. From mountains to forests, to cities, there's a nice mix of everything.
Just know that some of these require you to pay money, but it's not terrible at $2.99 per level. The good thing though is that the first three tracks are free, you just need to unlock two of them. This is good too because once you do unlock them, it feels rewarding.
Each of these tracks is pretty unique. The very first one you play on takes place in a mountainous area called Highland Ruins, where the finish line is in a castle. The next track is located in a canyon and features several unique jumps. This one is called The Ridge. And finally, the last free one you can unlock is Devil's Leap which takes place in a small city or town.
Bike Customization
If you're big on style, then there are some customization options in Touchgrind BMX 2. You will have the chance to change the colors on your bike before heading out. The color options run deep and you can unlock more as you progress.
You can change the primary and secondary colors to suit your style and personality. And who doesn't like some good personal style in certain games? Not only can you change colors, but you can unlock more parts for your bike via crates.
These crates can give you things like frames, wheels, seats, and handlebars.of different styles. There are special crates that you can purchase for $2.99 that will grant you a brand new type of bike to use altogether. For example, I received a thick motorcycle. But basic crates will give you the cool parts that you can use for your current ride.
