Rather than just giving you a few tidbits of news, I thought I'd start a new feature rounding up the most interesting bits of board game news from this Thursday. After all, Thursday is when most of the interesting things happen on the App Store.
So we've got new games for you to check out, some updates, and a couple of other bits and bobs that should keep your dice happy and your cards placated.
There are three games worth having a look at this week. First there's Titanfall: Assault [download on iOS / Android]. It's not a traditional board game by any stretch of the imagination, but you're laying down cards in multiplayer battles, and if you're a fan of the likes of Fantasy Flight Games I think it's well worth a look.
For the more traditional among you, we've got 1812: The Invasion of Canada [buy on iOS]. It's a massive, historically accurate war game played out across a huge map. You've got 3 scenarios, AI to play against, and 2 player online or 5 player pass-the-device multiplayer too.
If all of that's a bit too much for you though, you should probably check out What's Up [buy on iOS]. It's a game about turning cards over and matching up birds. There isn't a musket or giant stomping robot anywhere in sight.
Drakenlords [download on iOS] has been updated with some pretty interesting new content. There's a new event called Phoenix Rising. It'll see you battling against a different Phoenix every weekend.
You're going to need to use different strategies to take them down though, and there's sweet loot waiting for anyone who can do that.
The update also lets you use Refresh Decks in the Arena and fixes a few of those troublesome bugs.
Bits and bobs
The mobile companion app for Mansions of Madness 2.0 [download on iOS / Android] has been updated with a new DLC scenario. It'll cost you £4.99 / $4.99 and it's called Dark Reflections.
You'll need the physical board game to play it though, but it's definitely worth a look if you've got the game and are looking for more horrible, horrible adventures to go on.
