App Army Assemble: Titanfall: Assault - Has the Clash Royale beater finally arrived?

| Titanfall: Assault

Titanfall: Assault is an arena battler in a similar vein to Clash Royale. You'll build a deck of cards, then head out into multiplayer battles against a real person.

It's based on the Titanfall brand, so you can expect the massive titans and pilots from the console games to make an appearance, alongside some new characters.

At review, we gave it a coveted Gold Award and described it as: "A thick and entertaining mobile MOBA that's probably the best of the bunch".

We also asked the App Army for a second opinion, and here's what they had to say.

I played the beta of Titanfall: Assault and it's fun. It's not like the console games but the gameplay is just as fast paced.

There seems to be a problem with the graphics though. It doesn't look as good on my phone as on the screenshots. Overall the gameplay, matchmaking, and balance is awesome.

Titanfall: Assault is not like the console games. It's more of an RTS with some action features. It reminds me a lot of AirMech, and I'd rather play it on PC.

It's still a good achievement for mobile though. It's got all the strategy you want but with a lot of action as well. You have to think quick. There are also lots of troops, pilots and titans from the franchise, in the form of cards that can be upgraded using XP and credits.

The drop and rally point system is fairly easy to control on the touch screen, but for some reason it lacks a certain charm. The graphics are great, the concept is good, battle control and PvP matching is reasonable, but it has grind written all over it.

But if you're a fan of the Titans and don't mind that, go for it.

I loved Titanfall 2 on my PS4 and wished I could play more and now I can. Well, sort of. This is a fun turn based game that sounds and looks the part.

As a C&C fan I slipped into this game and really felt at home within its walls. This is well worth a download and feels good enough on my iPhone to play. In short go download this and have some fun.

Not sure if it was my internet connection but the game took forever to start, and loading took about 10 minutes.

Honestly, I'm not that impressed. It feels like any other Clash Royale clone but with a Titanfall coat of paint.

The different modes try to add some replay value but it's nothing new and you've seen it before.

Not a keeper in my opinion - unless you love everything Titanfall.
