The Walking Dead: Assault shuffles onto the iPhone and iPad

If you've polished off the fifth and final episode of Telltale's The Walking Dead: The Game, you're probably already on the look out for another zombie-filled title.

If so, we have some good news for you: Skybound has just released The Walking Dead: Assault. This is the "official" game of Robert Kirkman's record-breaking comic book series.

The Walking Dead: Assault, much like Telltale's aforementioned series, is presented in episodes. In this inaugural episode (entitled Days Gone Bye), you relive the events of the franchise's first five comic books.

So, it begins at the exact moment Sheriff Rick awakens alone in a hospital bed, and concludes with a shocking camp invasion that results in a number of casualties.

Throughout this episode, you'll have the chance to play as Rick, Shane, Lori, and several other fan-favourite characters, who are looking for supplies and hoping to survive. Somehow.

In future episodes, even more characters, weapons, and authentic locations from the series will be introduced.

The Walking Dead: Assault is available now as a Universal app for £1.49 / $1.99.
