Year Walk and DEVICE 6 developer Simogo has revealed the The Sailor's Dream today, which is due to arrive later this year on iOS.

It's described as a challenge-free experience that will take us on a tiny dream voyage to discover the "burning desires of three hearts united by the wonderful, but unmerciful ocean."

Presumably, that means we'll play through three different perspectives as we travel across the sea.

However, the journey will be non-linear and will be portrayed with a combination of words, music, sounds and illustrations.

Simogo released a trailer for The Sailor's Dream that you can watch below.

As you can see, The Sailor's Dream seems to fit nicely between the parallax first-person scrolling of Year Walk, and the textual paths of DEVICE 6.

By the looks of it, exploration is much more open than in those previous games, too. A compass reading runs across the top of the screen, suggesting that navigation is managed with some complexity.

There are plenty of locations featured in the trailer (and screenshots) that are on land as well. Mentioned are celestial sanctuaries and secret lighthouses, which appear to be filled with treasures, memories, and stories to discover.

Hopefully, we'll hear more about The Sailor's Dream in time. For now, I'm sure we can all appreciate its gentle, seafaring teaser.

The Sailor's Dream is due to arrive on iOS in late 2014. You can find more information on its website.
