[Update] Not out at midnight: Classic PC adventure game The Longest Journey has been remastered for iOS
Updated on October 28th, at 8:39: Whoops. It seems like the longest journey is going to be a little longer still, as the game will only be available in New Zealand and Australia for the time being.

A spokesperson for Funcom told Pocket Gamer, "We're using Australia and New Zealand as test markets for an initial release, and if all goes well we hope to release it in more markets very soon."

If you don't love down under we will, of course, let you know when you can get your mitts on the game in your territory.

Original story follows…

Funcom is bringing its classic PC adventure game The Longest Journey Remastered to iOS tonight.

We first heard word of this iOS port way back in 2011. The reason for the three-year holdup is anyone's guess.

Perhaps it's a matter of timing. After all, the game's episodic sequel Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey came out on PC and consoles earlier this month.

Anyway, this Remastered version of the game is the original game spruced up and optimised for smaller screens.

As before, then, you'll be following art student April Ryan as she shifts between two different worlds to ensure they don't become unbalanced.

It has fully-voiced characters, over 150 different locations to explore, and two dimensions to switch between.

You can purchase The Longest Journey on the UK and US App Stores at midnight for £4.99 / $6.99.
